Report from the Chief Operating Officer

Karen Van Hentenryck
HL7 International Chief Operating Officer

Membership

Membership is one of HL7’s main sources of revenue, so it’s not surprising that a significant amount of our resources are devoted to serving our members and attracting new ones. Given the current trend of mergers/acquisition in the industry, we feel fortunate to have pretty much maintained our membership in 2024.

Here’s a closer look at membership trends over the last year:

NEW MEMBERS

A total of 63 new organizations joined HL7 in 2024, compared to 66 in 2023

NON-RENEWALS

60 organizational members did not renew in 2024, compared with 101 in 2023
2024 Membership Revenue = $2,849,636 in 2024 compared to $3,590,693 in 2023.

In 2024 , HL7 recognized three volunteers of the year for their outstanding service. Established in 1997, the award is named after Dr. W Edward (Ed) Hammond, one of HL7’s most active volunteers and a founding member as well as serving as HL7 Board Chair for three terms.
